I am a supportive Salt Spring Island Chamber of Commerce member for many years. A former volunteer Board member for several
years, and a former president of the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce, Li Read believes in
community service. Li is a strong supporter of the arts community, sponsoring various initiatives. Li is also interested in positive outcomes for the entire business community. Li often says: "if you offer a service or an item for sale to the public, then you are in business. Though important, the retail face of Ganges Village is only the surface picture of the overall community endeavour. Home occupations, alternative wellness centred enterprises, trades, outdoor sea and mountain activities, the agricultural offerings, hospitality and accommodations...these are all businesses that knit together the enterprising and caring fabric of the Salt Spring Island community". As a successful real estate agent on Salt Spring, since 1989, Li's interest is in seeking good outcomes for her clients, both as sellers and as buyers. As president of the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce, Li Read continues her efforts to encourage authentic successes for both small business entrepreneurs and the Salt Spring community's general well-being. As Li puts it: "we are all in this together". |
